The Power of Will
This INFINITE POWER flows in and out of you in an endless stream of energy. When you give it direction, it is called good. But when the Power passes from you without direction, it's called less-good. INFINITE POWER is neither good nor bad. What you do with this POWER determines its affect upon you. Without the use of WILL, this Free Power remains undirected and passes through you without having any positive benefit upon your life. But when you direct this Power to accomplish a task of WILLFUL PURPOSE, you can attain the impossible. If you are content to let the Power flow through you misdirected or with no direction at all, then you cannot blame God or the Universe for the negative and haphazard incidents of your life. The Practices and Teachings of The Sadhana Society are written to assist you in gaining a Greater Awareness of the INFINITE POWER that is at your command.
Surplus in Humanity
There is also something within you that is not physical, which seeks greater expression. As human beings, we are aware of a Consciousness within our Being - an Intelligence that compels us to seek beyond what appears to be. This is the highest manifestation of the REAL SELF, which comes into the world to express its own Divinity. Every Great Religious Teacher that the World has ever known, has taught the UNITY OF GOD, HUMANITY AND THE UNIVERSE, and proclaimed that the Real Self is the Highest Expression of God on Earth.
The Hopi Way of Life
Throughout all of history there have been Seekers of Truth, men and women who through their study and practice, freed themselves from the bondages of life and left a Message of Truth for all humanity. What did they teach? They taught no intricate doctrines or theologies. They were not trying to prove the superiority of any special tribe or culture. Their followers may make extravagant claims in their favor, but the Enlightened Ones simply said, "I came into the world to reveal the Truth." Every Great Teacher pointed to a Way of Life, The Way of Truth that leads to Peace and Happiness. Failing to follow this path could mean misery and defeat.
The origin of many present day religions can be traced to the Sacred Lands of India or the Holy Lands of the Middle East. But as we become more knowledgeable, we discover that no land upon the face of the Earth is less Sacred or Divine than any other. Upon each continent, there are people who trace their antiquity as far back into the history of time as the Ancient Sages of India.
In the Western World, the Ancient Forest Teachers traced their common ancestry to the Peaceful People - the Hopi - the keepers of the Sacred Truth in this hemisphere. The Ancient Hopi Way of Life has developed practices and principles that have a NATURAL AFFINITY with the very air and soil of this continent. The Hopi celebration of the Annual Cycle of Life aligns all physical activities with the Powers and Forces of the Earth. It enhances the possibility for POSITIVE HAPPENINGS in the lives of those involved. Discovery of Self
You were created as the most Perfect Sensing Device in the Universe. YOU CAN GAIN CONTROL AND MASTERY OVER THESE LATENT ABILITIES! The Sadhana Society Teachings will guide you along the Pathway of Knowledge and Action towards the utilization of the Greatest Power on Earth - The SELF. The Isha Upanishad, says:
"The Self is One. Though never stirring, it is swifter than the Mind. The senses cannot claim it, for it moves ever in front. Remaining still, it is swifter than all that runs. Without the Self, there is no life."
The Self, is described as "swifter than the Mind." It is the Source of the Mind, and the place where resides the One - the Controller of the Mind. It cannot be known through touch or feel, smell, sound or reasoning. It is the Source and Controller of all of these. This is why it is important for us to develop our faculties of sensing to their highest degree. What you now see, hear, taste and feel, is not the REAL world. There is so much more to be realized. You must use all of these faculties of sensing to their highest ability, and then demand that they jump beyond the physical, to perceive the Greater Self.

Do you believe that your brain is creative?
If you do, you are making the same mistake as millions of people who have not discovered the REAL SELF. The brain is like a computer; IT DOES NOT THINK, it can only remember what is fed into it. IT CANNOT CREATE. Creativity implies the presence of a yet indefinable component. The brain can only deal with previously known components of knowledge. The Power to think New Thought and create new things lies nowhere but in the REAL SELF. Without the Self, there is no Creative Life. Anyone who relies on the brain for new experience, new creativity, is like the slave who dreams the dream of freedom and does nothing about it.
Inner Vision Leads to Perfection
Our Inner Vision should precede every thought and action that we create. In this way, the REAL SELF is walking in front of the body, pulling it into ever changing worlds of discovery and experience. This marvelous body is capable of experiencing and doing more things than you can ever imagine. It does not matter whether you are male or female, young or old. This body will respond to the changes you produce through the use of a new Inner Vision. Slavery is not the natural state of the human being. Ignorance is not the natural state; neither are loneliness, self-condemnation nor ill health. You are a Divine Person, both in your Spiritual and physical nature. You were created for Perfection by a Perfect Creator. Anything about you that seems less than Perfect, is of your own doing - or truer still, of your NOT DOING.
The greatest disease in the Western World is loneliness, which brings about a feeling of isolation and separateness from all of those around us. With loneliness, comes a self-pity that says, "I do not understand any more. Why is everyone in the world passing me by?" The fact is that everyone in the world is changing, and the lonely person is standing still. The feeling of self-pity is real, but it is also the most destructive force in our lives. It weakens our ability to think and act effectively. We go from one weakness to another, not knowing that we are Representatives of God, and that our path should ALWAYS be EVER-EXPANDING AWARENESS.
Whether you are accustomed to the idea or not, the fact remains that you are a Child of God. You came into being out of Perfection - Perfectly Created. Your Divine Heritage is Perfection. There is not, and there has never been, a separation from that Perfection. Your Destiny is to become One with God - not after you are dead in some imaginary place, but to be Perfect HERE and NOW, fully conscious that you are surrounded by a Perfect Universe and are the Manifestation of God in that Universe.
Unity Through Diversity
The Sadhana Society traces its history over 50,000 years to the first written records of Humanity's reachings toward God. These are methods and practices of the Ancient Sages as revealed in the Vedic writings of India. Because of their antiquity, these writings are considered the "Mother of All Religious Scripture." But the Religions that followed, sprung from a soil and a need of their own. Thus, they developed practices and teachings which were in harmony with their own unique personality. Although the Religions of the World appear to be different, the Truth which they convey is the same.
Through the awareness of UNITY WITHIN DIVERSITY, The Sadhana Society teaches the TRUE ONENESS of HUMANITY. The very meaning of Sadhana is:
PRACTICE BY DIRECT EXPERIENCE.
True Religion is neither talk nor theory. It may begin this way, but True Religion must become an Inner Realization that our True Nature is Spiritual and that we are One with Universal Spirit. The REAL PURPOSE of Religion, is a search for Self-Knowledge - a search for God within ourselves. We should not think of ourselves as needing to be "Saved". We were never lost. At worst, we are only living in ignorance of our True Nature.
The Teachings and Practices of The Sadhana Society follow a definite system and order. These Teachings will lead you into a greater relationship with God, Humanity, and the Universe. The progressive LESSONS and EXPERIMENTS are derived from different systems of Yoga, Buddhism, Zen and Native American Spiritual Practices. The Sadhana Society also teaches many little known practices of metaphysics and para-psychology.
